Configure MS Outlook Express Version 6

Note: The following instructions are not intended for email hosting accounts. For support configuring your hosted domain's email, please contact your administrator.

To configure Microsoft Outlook to access your POP3 Greatmail account, you should use the following settings:
Incoming mail server [POP3]: greatmail.com
Outgoing mail server [SMTP]: greatmail.com
Account name: yourname@greatmail.com
Password: yourpassword

Advanced Settings:
POP3 port number: 110
SMTP port number: 25

Note about SMTP/Outgoing Server

Outgoing Server/SMTP requires authentication. Some internet service providers do not allow their customers to use third party SMTP servers. Please contact your ISP if you are uncertain about your ability to use other SMTP servers to send mail. If your ISP requires that you you use their SMTP server, simply substitute your ISP's outgoing server name in the mail server setup (See Step 5).

The following instructions use screenshots from Microsoft Outlook Express 6.

1. To add a new POP3 account in Microsoft Outlook, go to the "Tools" menu and select the "Accounts" option.

2. Click on the "Add Mail" button.

3. Enter a display name for your account.

4. Enter your full email address.

5. Enter "greatmail.com" for both the incoming and outgoing mail servers. If your ISP requires that you use their outgoing mail server, enter your ISP's mail server name in the outgoing mail server field in place of "greatmail.com".
